Sue Ebury

We were privileged to have Sue Ebury, author and editor of Weary: the life of Sir Edward Dunlop present to us her newest book of another great but unsung Australian whose name although very public is generally not regarded as one of the great civic leaders.

Yet Sir Kenneth Myer’s inspirational leadership in Melbourne’s development in particular and throughout Australia in general is only now becoming recognised as the fruits of his foresight and planning continue to change the lives of how Australians live.myer

Know for his dedication and contributions to the Arts Sue’s impassioned presentation  provided us with a thorough upgrading of our knowledge about this remarkable man and detailed the feats and exploits of his leadership and told us of the generosity of wealth and spirit that he bestowed on the nation.

Sue was introduced and and thanked by Alan Lipshut

Club President Elect Gerri Charles ask members to consider what we should be doing to assist the Club and RI make a difference!

DID YOU KNOW over 1 billion children and adults still lack basicPrimary School Awards for litercay literacy skills. Of these 113 million children do not have a school to attend and 500 million women remain illiterate due to cultural and historical reasons. They live in camps, villages, towns and cities, overseas, in other states and in our own communities.

In today’s world it is hard to imagine how this could be true and even harder to imagine the impact this disability must have upon these people’s self-esteem and independence, their lives and their hopes for the future.

Please read this brochure and consider what we should DO
